This was a fun little exercise/experiment for myself. We ended up being so happy with it, that we presented it to Lolly Tree Toys’ owners. But, sadly they weren’t looking to rebrand. Recently, they went out of business, so I feel it’s okay to make these designs public.
What I wanted to present was a refreshed, more playful version of their logo. I emphasized movement through expressive, hand-rendered type. The letters look as though they are swinging through the branches! Their old logo’s color’s were a touch harsh for a store that focused a lot on products for the very young and handmade, simpler toys. I used a color scheme that was similar, greens, blues and yellows, but softened them up.
I had many more ideas and plans (I would have worked on a way to incorporate those duckies into web and print designs), but that’s the way the spec cookie crumbles! I still enjoyed myself and think it was a great solution.
